I received this book through Late Night Books and Reviews for an honest review.
I was completely sold on the writing style of the author from the word go. No sexy, glamorous situation to introduce the heroine , Giselle, but a 24 year old woman being sick over an over on a flight from Paris to Mexico!! Upsetting the people around her, one man even offered to pay another passenger to exchange seats with him lol ! Not in the least romantic or awe inspiring. I immediately loved the heroine with no reservations!
From here on in I will not disclose any of the story as it's not my way, you will have to purchase the book to learn how it all plays out. I hate spoilers. All I will say is that this is a very sensual book rather than simply an out right sexual book. I was drawn into the emotional ties between these two far more than simply being titillated by their sexual encounters.
Ms Darling has a great start to a series here and describes emotions and sexual events in a way that leaves the reader involved and emotionally drawn to the situations. This is a truly romantic love story that unfolds despite the criteria adopted that it is simply a short term, one week only, holiday affair.
The gradual unfolding of emotions and attractions are beautifully described and will leave you longing for a Sinclair of your own. The setting, Los Cabos, Mexico, would be romantic in and of itself but the rich resort offering all the luxurious comforts you could ask for, make it a delightful place to dream and partake of a romantic affair for the duration of ones vacation.
Due to it's nature and the feelings and emotions of Giselle and Sinclair, you know that this is a story that must continue and find it's HEA at some point. You will in turn love and hate Sinclair, but that's a given for a sexy, hot male lead isn't it? BDSM is alluded to but a very small taste is offered in this portion of the story. Who knows how far they will take it in subsequent episodes.
I personally enjoyed this book very much and will definitely be purchasing the following book when it's released. Well done Ms Darling, a well written book that is easy to read and holds the reader's imagination. There are some literary errors that need top be addressed but perhaps a run over by a good proofreader/editor is needed. As a first book, probably self edited, this is to be expected but easily resolved and I hope that the author will employ someone for the rest of the series.
