The Kiss That Saved Me, the second book in the Tidal Kiss
Trilogy, begins shortly after the first book, The Kiss that Killed Me, ended. Like
the first book, this is a paranormal romance with suspense based on Greek
mythology and mermaid lore.
It’s got a good storyline and the author was very detailed
in her vision of the underwater world and the world above. I really liked the mythology and history
references. I also loved the descriptions the house on the cliff.
Once again, Callie and Orion are the two main characters in
the novel. Callie and Orion must face the aftermath of the events from book
one. They are thrust into a situation that neither of them are prepared for and
they struggle to deal with things. They both need to discover who they are and
who they want to be.
A few additional characters are introduced in this book that
make things very interesting. Vex makes things fun and I am looking forward to
see much more of him in the next book.
Callie does a lot of learning and maturing in the Kiss That
Saved Me. She explores her darker side through this book, and is tempted to
give up everything. She grows as an individual and also as a character. In book
one, she was a typical high school student and in this book, she becomes a
woman. She has to deal with
Orion shows vulnerability, stubbornness and a fear of losing
everything, especially after he almost lost Callie. He also did a lot of
growing and maturing in this book. I love that he is still mysterious, sexy, and
a complete hottie.
There was much more action in the book and the storyline
gets more complex. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
