Holding Fast is a great romance with story for anyone looking for a quick light stand alone read. Eli and Ainsley were well developed characters and I enjoyed the story being told from both perspectives. The author did a wonderful job of addressing potential issues of an interracial couple. The supporting characters were all very well written with each having their own voice. Eli was different from the typical Alpha male in romance novels as he came off as having a much more softer vulnerable side, likely due to his work with the NYPD. Ainsley's character came off as strong and level headed in spite of a past abusive relationship. Jeanine Binder was able to write characters will relatable and believable backstory that have such a depth in such a short amount of space I am amazed. I also loved that this story wasn't an insta-love. While Eli and Ainsley's romance was quickly paced it developed at a very real rate.

The story was well paced and kept my interest however it is short, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I did find the action sequence felt a bit rushed as I expected more of a dramatic play to that event in the book. While I didn't feel like the book was rushed I did wish there were more to read. (Which is just what every great author shots for, a reader wanting more!)

I look forward to her other books
