Winter Wishes by Regina Morris is a novel in her COLONY series. I haven't had the pleasure of reading others in this series but I sure plan to. The series looks to be interconnected standalones.

Samual is a wrongly accused vampire that needs to clear his name before his trial. He goes during the holidays to see a friend and finds something more unexpected there. When a woman spike his interest, which hasn't happened for a long time, he has a lot of difficult choices to make.

Louise is a woman that just wants to be happy. When her soon to be ex-husband's latest draft of the divorce settlement makes its way to her she is anything but. When a mysterious stranger catches her eye and helps her from a sticky situation she starts to fall for him hard. When a family heirloom looks to come between them what will happen.

Regina Morris is a very talented story teller. Between the paranormal and romance aspects of this story it is one that I could not easily put down. 4 beautiful stars for a story of just how life puts some strange obstacles in the path of even the paranormal.
