I was asked to review this book for Late Night Books and Reviews.

The cliff hanger to end the first Quinn book was a good indication of how this story would continue and the author didn't disappoint.

While the first book was about the primary characters, Quinn and Alexis, how they came to meet, the way that their relationship developed and flourished. Their interaction was intense and volatile and therefore, naturally, hot and steamy. The secondary characters, mostly the bad guys, were also introduced and fitted into the situation, leading up to the cliffhanger ending.

This continuation, develops the plot between all of the characters, good and bad, it is a lot darker, more violent and less sexual than the first book, although there is still some sexual content. The story moves along at a decent pace. giving points of view from both sides and even a third aspect from Alexis' family, but seems to slows down at approximately the halfway point.

There is some misunderstanding and mistrust on both sides, adding to the general suspense and excitement of the story, with some surprises that I did not expect. I did feel that perhaps some of the characters needed to be fleshed out a little more, especially Vince, an old flame of Alexis. He played a major part in her life and indeed the story but we did not get enough detail about him. I simply wanted to know what was happening with certain characters and why.

An interesting story, an easy read for a summer afternoon or a comfortable evening, with some action, suspense and frustration on both sides, along with the romance that will hold your interest and carry you along with the events.

The editing / proof reading errors of the first book, were not present in this second one, which made the read much more pleasant.
